Melissa has been
teaching children's music for six years in Monmouth County. As a proud
member of Holiday Express, Melissa is a singer-songwriter and former
modern dancer. She is so thrilled to introduce Music for Aardvarks and
Other Mammals.
“My dream of combining
modern contemporary music with children’s themes has arrived” inspired by
songs such as ‘it’s velcro and I love that sound’, a day alone with dad,
toilet training, and more as heard on
Jack’s Big Music Show on
Nickelodeon’s Noggin Network.
Music for Aardvarks
and Other Mammals is an original music program for parents and their
little ones, 6 months to 5 years old. Sing, dance, and jam to
original contemporary music for your urban-suburban hip-tot!
Each 45- minute class is
packed with tools to encourage their early musical development such as
shakers, scarves, bells, parachutes, balls, and drums. As we sing,
dance, and ROCK, parents play a huge part in their tots class experience
and growth.
Role modeling and
participation are just a few ways to bond and help them grow musically and
socially. A "Music for Aardvarks" CD is provided as a part of
each registered ten-week program. Ms. Melissa and her guitar lead
each class into the new generation of children's music programs!

Miss PAM

|
A very close friend with
countless years of music experience and my partner in crime at Holiday
Express, I am pleased to announce Pam Minson as a new teacher at
Miss Melissa's Aardvarks. Pam's passion for music began early, and
she performed acoustically in the 70's in the shore area as well as New
York and New England. After marriage and motherhood, she returned to
the music scene in 1995 as a lead singer for The Stormin' Norman Band.
Since then, she has worked with Dr. Bob & Co., Stormin' Norman & Steel
Breeze, Comfort Zone, and McCarthy & McCoy Band, as well as with Dave
McCarthy as an acoustic duo.
In 2003, she joined
forces with the combined talents of Scott Paden and Tom Minson in KODA,
bringing her strong lead vocals and harmonies as well as her rhythm guitar
to the mix. This is not her first collaboration with Scott, however,
as they recorded two songs as a duo on the original soundtrack for George
Severini's musical, Spirit, in 1996.
She has been a member and
featured singer of Holiday Express since 1996. She has also
performed annually at the Twilight Concert, a fundraiser held for the Aids
Resource Foundation for Children, since 1998. |
